Aims and Scope
The Journal of Sustainable Economies (JSE; ISSN 3067-6118) is the official journal of Notre Dame University – Louaize, published in collaboration with Northeastern University and published by Luminous Insights Publishing.
Target audience
JSE serves researchers, academics, policymakers, and practitioners working at the intersection of sustainability and economics. The journal publishes scholarly research intended for an international audience of specialists and informed professionals in economics, environmental policy, development studies, and related disciplines.
Aim
The Journal of Sustainable Economies supports studies that explore sustainable economic models balancing environmental sustainability and economic growth. JSE aims to advance knowledge and awareness of sustainable economies by featuring academic research, case studies, and expert opinions. It addresses environmental and economic challenges through innovative solutions and encourages the adoption and implementation of sustainable economic policies among academics, policymakers, and business leaders.
The journal publishes empirical and theoretical studies examining sustainable economic development in both developed and developing countries. By doing so, JSE provides a platform for academics, policymakers, and practitioners to share research findings and perspectives on economics and sustainability.
Scope
JSE covers a wide range of topics at the intersection of sustainability and economics, including but not limited to: green growth and circular economy; sustainable finance and investment; environmental and resource economics; climate policy and carbon markets; sustainable development goals (SDGs); inequality, wellbeing, and inclusive growth; energy transition; sustainable trade and supply chains; and policy evaluation of sustainable economic interventions.
The journal offers guidance on implementing sustainable economic policies through theoretical and practical studies and presents empirical examples of how economic sectors can collaborate to achieve sustainable development goals. JSE also features the latest research, policy analyses, and international practices in related fields, ensuring readers gain a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on economics from a sustainability lens.
Article types and publication frequency
JSE publishes two issues per year (June and December) and accepts the following article types:
- Original research articles
- Review articles
- Commentaries
