Abstract

Poussée par le désir de connaître, hissée par l’endurance du quêteur, l’histoire des sciences s’est construite en une part importante par le fait de grands voya-geurs. Jonchée de difficultés, elle est également jalonnée de rencontres. L’histoire des sciences humaines, qui placent la centralité de l’humain au cœur de leurs préoccupations – et plus particulièrement l’histoire de la mu-sique et de la musicologie – ne saurait se séparer des notions de partage et d’échange. Si la circulation des savoirs va de pair avec la circulation des êtres – à la fois effective et virtuelle à travers leurs œuvres – et s’il nous est permis de penser qu’une part du développement des sciences et de l’intellect est reliée au développement des rapports humains, nous pouvons donc observer la cons-truction des réseaux internationaux en un domaine donné à travers la bilatéra-lité d’une relation humaine. Dans la sphère francophone et en matière musico-logique, la langue a été un atout majeur pour la rencontre, la connaissance de l’autre, l’échange et la construction en commun d’une pensée musicologique. Il s’agit dans cet article de circonscrire notre réflexion à un certain nombre d’échanges musicologiques fondateurs. Nous nous intéressons notamment au parcours universitaire de Mahmoud Guettat en France et à son impact sur la construction de la musicologie tunisienne au plan académique particulière-ment à travers la fondation de l’Institut Supérieur de Musique de Tunis. Nous nous référons également à Mohamed Zinelabidine et aux rapports humains qui ont permis la construction de réseaux et de partenariats franco-tunisiens en matière musicologique. En remontant plus loin dans le temps, la rencontre qui s’est instaurée au Palais Ennejma Ezzahra à Sidi Bou Saïd durant la première moitié du XXe siècle a permis d’unir sur le sol tunisien, dans une expression française et à travers la musique, les deux rives de la Méditerranée par la collaboration d’acteurs tunisiens, français, syriens, libanais… Les rapports humains étant fondamentalement une réciprocité, l’apport de l’autre ne sau-rait être observé dans une vision à sens unique. L’échange qu’a impliqué la rencontre, tout en construisant la musicologie du quêteur de savoir a égale-ment permis le développement du passeur de savoir. Aux deux rives de la Méditerranée, les acteurs partant du sud vers le nord se sont enrichis, ont enrichi leur terre natale et leur terre d’accueil ; et vice-versa. 

Pushed by the desire to know, raised by the endurance of the seeker, the history of science was built in large part through the action of great travelers. Strewn with difficulties it is also littered with encounters. The history of the human sciences, wich places the centrality of the human at the heart of their concerns – and especially the history of music and musicology – cannot be separated from the notions of sharing and exchange. If the circulation of knowledge goes hand in hand with the circulation of beings – both effective and virtual through their works – and if we are allowed to think that part of the development of science and intellect is related to the development of human relations, we can therefore observe the construction of the internation-al networks in a given domain through the bilaterality of a human relation-ship. In the Francophone sphere and in musicology, language has been a major asset for encounter, knowledge of the other, exchange and joint con-struction of musicological thought. In this article, we will circumscribe our reflection to a certain number of founding musicological exchanges. We are particularly interested in the university road of Mahmoud Guettat in France and in its impact on the construction of tunisian musicology especially in the academic plan through the foundation of the Higher Institute of Music of Tunis. We also refer to Mohamed Zinelabidine and to the human relations that allowed the construction of Franco-tunisian networks and partnerships in musicology. Going back in time, the meeting that took place at Ennejma Ezzahra Palace in Sidi Bou Saïd during the first half oh the 20th century al-lowed to unite on Tunisian soil, in a French expression and through music, the two shores of the Mediterranean by the collaboration of Tunisian, French, Syrian and Lebanese actors. Since human relationships are fundamentally reciprocal, the contribution of the other cannot be observed in a one-way vision. The exchange that the encounter involved, while building the musi-cology of the knowledge seeker also allowed the development of the knowledge smuggler. On both sides of the Mediterranean, actors from the south to the north got richer, enriched their native land and their host land; and vice versa.
