Abstract
En réponse au préjugé trop répandu selon lequel les échelles modales à ossature zalzalienne constitueraient une impasse pour les enfants, le propos de l'article est de souligner la capacité de discrimination de cette structure modale caractéristique des traditions levantines chez des enfants libanais de 8 à 12 ans ainsi que l'effet de la réitération sur leur faculté d'apprentissage. La validation de cette hypothèse se base sur une étude de terrain réalisée en 2008-2009 et sur une lecture affinée de ses résultats.
In response to the widespread preconception which holds that modal scales of Zalzalian framework constitute an impasse for children, the intent of this article is to highlight the capacity to discriminate this modal structure characteristic of Levantine tradition among Lebanese children of 8 to 12 years, as well as to show the effect of repetition on learning. The substantiation of the hypothesis is based on a field study undertaken in 2008 and 2009 and on a close reading of the results.
