Abstract

Le texte de proposition de questionnement dont les musicologues emploient le concept d'hétérophonie. Après une brève présentation de ce que ces derniers entendent par hétérophonie, le débat est traduit dans le langage des sciences cognitives. Avant de présenter une analyse différente du phénomène hétérophonique (une analyse dite réaliste), il est question de quelques biais partagés par les chercheurs quand ils proposent leurs modèles du phénomène en question (la théorie cognitive implicite qui sous-tend leur discours), biais qui, en tant que prémisses, ne peuvent que faire aboutir aux types de conclusions qu'ils proposent.

This article is an attempt to criticize the way musicologists generally use the concept of heterophony. After a brief presentation of the way they understand the concept, this debate is translated in the language of the cognitive sciences. Before presenting an alternative analysis of the heterophonic phenomenon, (a realistic approach), a large part of the text is devoted to some biases shared by the scholars when they propose their models of the phenomenon (the implicit cognitive theory underlying their discourse), biases that, as premises, do not lead to other possible conclusions than the one we find in the literature.
